Turtle Survival Alliance has active initiatives in more than 30 countries to prevent turtle extinctions. From returning Radiated Tortoises (Astrochelys radiata) to protected wild habitats in Madagascar, to protecting critically endangered turtles in Mexico, Belize, Bangladesh, and across the United States, our in-country teams are creating real, measurable conservation outcomes every day.

• Protect and recover wild turtle populations through science-driven fieldwork for the Southern River Terrapin (Batagur affinis), the Red-crowned Roof Turtle (Batagur kachuga), among many other species.

• Expand conservation breeding and reintroduction programs for species on the brink like the Central American River Turtle (Dermatemys mawaii).

• Strengthen community-led conservation, anti-poaching efforts, and habitat protection for species like the Radiated Tortoise and Pancake Tortoise (Malacochersus tornieri).
